I am wary of jinxing things, but the pram is running well. The guys from Chariot Carriers said that there prams were tough, and with just over 1500 km completed, things are looking good. So a thank you to them and Thule South Africa, for showing a bit of faith in our project.
The Columbia gear hasn't really been tested fully yet, but I must mention their base layer omni heat gear. That stuff ROCKS. So if you're feeling the cold, that stuff will definitely sort you out.
And then of course the sunblock from Sunumbra.
It hasn't had to work too hard, but that is fine because we know it works. Just before the project commenced though, the whole issue of bears and their sense of smell came up. Typically, one should hang food, waste and toiletries in a tree, away from bears. I have seen a bear, and while it did stand up to get a better look, it didn't come and lick my face. I'm not sure whether that test is enough to draw any conclusions, bt it seems that Sunumbra will protect you from the sun, and just possibly bears as well.
Happy Canada day....oh, and this was a river I passed.
